Important town in the Marche Riviera, a very active fishing center and a major seaside resorts of the middle Adriatic. Located at the mouth of the river Albula and extended between the rivers Tronto Tesino north and south, has a long beach of fine white sand that slopes gently into the sea, characterized by shallow waters.
Its rich vegetation, formed essentially by countless palm trees that grow on the beach, distinguishes the waterfront. For this peculiarity, St. Benedict is also referred to as the “Riviera delle Palme”. The consistency of accommodation, including hotel complexes, apartments and camping is remarkable; there are also numerous activities that integrate the life of the beach as the Marina, the Nautical Club, the Tennis Club, the Sports Palace, the complex of hockey and skating, bowling, swimming pools and a running track. Its proximity to the verdant hills with important towns of medieval origin allows excursions for lovers of art and history within a few kilometers. St. Benedict is the home of “Fish Soup sambenedettese”, whose originality lies in the use of vinegar, green pepper and tomato; is also an area of DOC: Falerio Hills Ascolani, Rosso Piceno and Rosso Piceno Superiore.
