Including especially in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, Monferrato is a hilly area south of the Po towards the Ligurian Apennines. The area offers beautiful walking trails, able to mix a landscape of rolling hills with historical evidence of first importance, a city of great charm and small settlements dominated by castles. In the vicinity of the confluence of the rivers Tanaro and Bormida we find the city of Alexandria, with a more continental climate than the rest of Piedmont; rich in monuments and buildings of different eras and styles from Liberty Square to the Red Palace or The Triumphal Arch located at the end of Via Dante.
