On 26 June 2002, the UNESCO World Heritage sites inscribed among the eight cities Late Baroque of Val di Noto: Caltagirone, Catania, Militello Val di Catania, Modica, Noto, Palazzolo Acreide, Ragusa and Scicli. A marvelous land, full of monuments, beaches, nature trails archaeological sites and typical products. The Vendicari Reserve (which covers about 1512 hectares) is particularly important for the existence of the marshes by the high salinity that has contributed to the creation of an ecosystem that is the reference point for the rest of the birds from Africa. The reserve is a coastal wetland of high biological value for the presence of different habitats: rocky, sandy coast, Mediterranean.
