The Matese Regional Park was established April 12, 2002, to safeguard one of the largest and most important of massive limestone and dolomite in our region. It covers 33326.53 acres and is one of the most natural and environmental interest of the central-southern characterizing, with the configuration of the respective sides, the territory of Campania – which forms the eastern boundary of the high level of Caserta – and the Molise territory identified by the director of Benevento – Isernia. The legend of the witches of Benevento, spreading to Europe in the thirteenth century, is one of the main reasons for the fame of the city Sunni.
