Including especially in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, Monferrato is a hilly area south of the Po towards the Ligurian Apennines, one of the most famous Italian wine regions, especially as regards red wines and sparkling wines. Screws but not limited to: agriculture and livestock produce in fact even hazelnuts and fruits, meats and cheeses. The forests are rich in precious truffles. The Monferrato offers beautiful walking trails, able to mix a landscape of rolling hills with historical evidence of first importance, a city of great charm and small settlements dominated by castles, fine wines (Barbera Moscato) and mouth-watering delicacies. The Monferrato, in fact, a land rich in history and tradition, combines a landscape largely intact in its original characters with a commercial offer: Valencia gold at Terme di Acqui, hats Alexandria chocolate Novi, from Gavi wines to those of Asti, Canelli, Vignale, Casale. But what of Monferrato is primarily a landscape of castles in a landscape of rolling hills and vineyards.
