The territory of Piceno, whose name refers to the ancient Italic people of Piceno, corresponds to that of the province of Ascoli Piceno, the southernmost of the Marche.
Ascoli, the cradle of civilization of Piceno, located on the Via Salaria at the confluence of the river with the river Tronto Castellano, surrounded by Mount Ascension to the north, from the Sibillini mountains to the west and south by the Laga; east opens the Tronto valley that leads down to the sea where we find San Benedetto del Tronto, one of the largest fishing ports in Italian.
Because of its location midway between the sea and the mountains of the protected National Parks Monti Sibillini and Gran Sasso-Monti della Laga, the Piceno is able to offer a range of destinations and itineraries of great interest.
Cities of Art (Ascoli Piceno where to start from the juxtaposition of styles has created real gems), medieval villages, museums, art galleries, archaeological sites, medieval and Romanesque architecture. The unmistakable all the hilly landscape to the stretches of fine white sand coastline.
