SACRO MONTE DI VARALLOThe Sacred Mountain is a complex artistic-religious composed of forty-five chapels and a church, populated by frescoes and sculptures that depict the life of Christ, built between the late fifteenth and eighteenth centuries by the greatest artists of Piedmont and Lombardy: Gaudenzio Ferrari, Moray , Tanzio da Varallo, Giovanni d’Enrico, Dionigi Bussola, the Sacro Monte is also a fine example of garden-park, organized according to the model of the Italian garden, with hedges, paths and woodland areas and the ideal city, with two historic squares.
